It's been a busy, busy week here at Straight to the Bar. A few highlights :
- Articles : Mike Davis discussed the importance of ankle mobility, Charles Poliquin looked at the benefits of overtraining and Scott Sonnon spoke about several of the recent changes in kettlebell training. Very interesting stuff.
- Videos : The Diesel Crew demonstrated a great exercise with an extra dose of grip - the Pinch Clean and Press, Gymnastics Coaching pointed us to a clip featuring plenty of standing somersault action and Matt Reynolds & Jonny Gold showed what Strongman training is all about.
- How to : The Ice Chamber's Kelley Hinds showed how to perform the Barbell Snatch, Fortified Iron members helped us soften lifting belts and Glasgow Parkour showed us how to do a little upper-body and core training for Parkour. The Hanging Knees to Elbows is a definite keeper.
- Sites : The feed reader certainly didn't go hungry this week, with the following sites joining the ever-growing list - Andrew Smit's Comrades Marathon Blog (and at a shade under 90km, that's serious business), Dogen Tricks (articles, forums and plenty of video tutorials) and Southern California Aquatics (home of professional swimmer Tony Austin). Superb.
- Bonus : Chris Shugart chats to IFBB Pro Stan 'The Man' McQuay; the guy helping to bring the bodybuilding world back on track. As you'll hear, he's more about symmetry and proportion than size-at-any-cost.
